A visually stunning city offering an attractive harbour surrounded by large skyscrapers, whilst it still has a mix of colonial buildings and street markets. Hong Kong is one of the world's major financial and trading centres. There are three main parts to Hong Kong the two most populated are Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, the other is Lantau Island which is home to Hong Kong Disneyland. Disneyland Hong Kong, on Lantau Island, has a range of shows, rides and attractions for kids of all ages including roller coasters, jungle shows and of course all the Disney characters and parades that Disneyland is famous for. There are also two Disneyland Hotels which families will love. There are some beautiful temples in Hong Kong to discover and the sitting buddha on Lantua Island is popular with visitors. Its also great to wander the small fishing villages on Lantau and see the cultural side of Hong Kong.
The street markets are also well worth a visit selling everything from bags to birds and clothing to catfish. The Stanley street day markets on Hong Kong Island are popular as are the street markets in Kowloon.
No trip to Hong Kong is complete without a ride on a Hong Kong island tram for just a couple dollars sit onboard these incredibly skinny trams as they pass by each other with just millimetres to spare. The star ferry is also a cheap and enjoyable way to view the harbour.
