Crusoe’s Retreat is set amongst ten acres of lush tropical gardens and a palm-fringed sandy beach on Fiji’s famous Coral Coast. Situated on the main island of Viti Levu, and close to Pacific Harbour, Fiji’s Adventure Capital, Crusoe’s location is the perfect base to experience exciting adventures and excursions, enjoy amazing scuba diving, take part in plenty of resort activities, or simply relax on a secluded beach.

What sets Crusoe’s Retreat location apart from other resorts in Fiji is that we are directly next to a traditional Fijian village. Guests can walk over and visit with local Fijians, and experience firsthand why Fijians are considered to be the happiest people on earth. Namaqumaqua Village is home to almost all of the staff members who work at Crusoe’s Retreat, and features a small school where you can meet some of the village children, as well as several churches where you are welcome to visit and participate in Sunday services. The highlight of almost every guests’ stay is spending time with the friendly native Fijians, and experiencing daily life in Fiji firsthand.

As an isolated resort, Crusoe’s is very much ‘off the beaten path’. As you will see during your drive from the airport, most of the resorts along the Coral Coast are located directly on the main road, while Crusoe’s is located 4 km off the main highway. The access road to Crusoe’s takes you past traditional Fijian farms and houses. When you reach the top of the hilly road, you will be rewarded with amazing views of the ocean and outlying reef, flanked by two beautiful bays on each side. This is a great spot to take in all of Fiji’s natural splendor. When you reach Crusoe’s Retreat, you will be met by our local, friendly staff who will greet you with a cold tropical drink and lei.
